Armstrong Goes Home

Compiled From Wire Services

Former world champion cyclist Lance Armstrong is out of the hospital after undergoing brain surgery and chemotherapy.

“Lance has completed his second round of chemotherapy with excellent tolerance of side effects,” Dr. Craig R. Nichols said in a statement released by Armstrong’s agent. “By all parameters, x-rays, pathological findings and blood tests, the germ cell cancer is regressing very rapidly and exceeding predicted expectations.”

The 25-year-old Armstrong, also a two-time Tour de France stage winner, had surgery for testicular cancer early last month at University Hospital in Indianapolis.

Less than a month later, it was announced that he had two cancerous brain lesions, which required additional surgery on Oct. 24.
