Gunman Tries To Rob Theater

A masked man tried to rob the East Sprague Cinemas in the Spokane Valley on Monday night.

An employee working the ticket booth told sheriff’s deputies the man walked to the window about 9 p.m.

She said he pulled a mask over his face as he approached, took out a small black handgun and demanded money.

The employee refused and ran inside the theater.

She described the would-be thief as a white man, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 170 pounds. He was wearing a blue flannel shirt and blue jeans.
