Hells Angels Leave Bombed Clubhouse
At City Hall’s urging, the Hells Angels have abandoned their Copenhagen clubhouse - hit by a deadly anti-tank grenade last month.
The grenade slammed into the Copenhagen headquarters during a beer bash there, killing two people and injuring 19 others. Police suspect that the rival Bandidos gang was behind the attack.
Many residents in the surrounding working-class district had avoided rooms in their homes that faced the clubhouse, fearing stray bullets and bombs.
The Danish bikers are locked in a low-level guerrilla war being waged among motorcycle gang members across Scandinavia and Finland.
While the Hells Angels finally agreed to roar on down the road, their departure came at a price for Danish taxpayers, City Hall spokesman Carsten Mai-Joergensen said Friday: The local government spent $17,240 to buy the bikers out.
