Car Bombs Explode; At Least 15 Killed

A car bomb exploded in an Algiers suburb early Sunday, killing at least 15 people and wounding 30, some of them children, security officials and hospital sources said.

Hours later, a second bomb was heard going off, but it was not immediately clear where. Both explosions could be heard throughout most of the city.

The first bomb exploded near a bus full of travelers, the officials said. The site was also near a school, and some of the dead and wounded were children.

Hospital sources said 15 people were killed, four of them children, and at least 30 wounded - many also children. The official death toll was 11.
