Foo Fighters Win Three Music Video Awards

Nirvana spinoff band Foo Fighters claimed a leading three awards at the 18th annual Billboard Music Video Awards in San Francisco this week.

The group’s “Big Me” won best alternative, new artist and “maximum vision” prizes for its clever takeoff of the TV ads for Mentos candies.

Alanis Morissette and country act LeAnn Rimes also won top honors at the awards. Director Hype Williams of Big Dog Films was named best lensman after having shot 20 videos this year, including R. Kelly and Tupac Shakur.

Other winners included Stone Temple Pilots, Herbie Hancock, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Busta Rhymes and DC Talk.
