Page Returns To Lead Hoyas Past Bosnia, 111-50

In its final test flight, the Georgetown men’s basketball team orbited a touring Bosnian squad Saturday.

After exchanging gifts and handshakes with their foreign opponents, the Hoyas ran away from them. Georgetown ended its preseason with a 111-50 victory at McDonough Arena as coach John Thompson used all 16 players.

Sophomore guard Victor Page, idled by a cyst in Georgetown’s other exhibition victory last week, led the Hoyas with 26 points. Two freshmen were right behind him: Guard Shernard Long had 19 points and five steals, and point guard Ed Sheffey 11 points and five assists.

Georgetown was scheduled to have played a team from Croatia, but the Croats couldn’t make it.

Seven minutes into the game, Georgetown had used 10 players to forge a 19-5 lead.
