Myrtle Anderson Mossyrock, Wash.

No service will be held for Myrtle Elizabeth Anderson, 87. Burial will be in Garfield, Wash.

Mrs. Anderson died Nov. 8 in Morton, Wash.

She was born in Ritzville, Wash., and grew up in Montana and Palouse, Wash.

She graduated from St. Lukes School of Nursing in Spokane.

She married Oliver Anderson and they lived on a farm three miles from Garfield. They also managed mobile home courts until they retired and moved to Mossyrock 17 years ago.

She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Colfax and the Garfield Methodist Church Women’s Group.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Gerald Anderson of Clackamas, Ore.; a daughter, Dorothy Munroe of Selah, Wash.; and four grandchildren.

Myrtle Coker Newport, Wash.

No service will be held for Myrtle T. Coker, 89. Burial will be at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Francisco. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Coker, who was born in Los Angeles, died Nov. 12.

She married Arvel Coker in Los Angeles in 1926 and they later moved to Newport.

Mrs. Coker worked in the insurance industry and retired in 1979.

Her husband died in 1964.

Survivors include two daughters, June Dempster of Newport and Diane Carpenter of Galt, Calif.; a brother, Clark Tennesen of Van Nuys, Calif.; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Bernadine Gardiner Burien, Wash.

Graveside service for Bernadine Nora Gardiner, 79, was Friday at Newport (Wash.) Cemetery.

Mrs. Gardiner died Nov. 12 in Burien, where she had lived for the past several years.

She was born in Locke, Wash., and lived in Newport prior to moving to Burien.

She is survived by two sons, John and Ted Gardiner, both of Seattle; a sister, Beulah Conner of Seattle; and three grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pend Oreille County Historical Society.

Bruce Scott Plummer, Idaho

Memorial service for Bruce Scott, a retired horse trainer, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the American Legion Hall 888 in Plummer. Kramer Funeral Home in Tekoa, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Scott, 73, died Wednesday.

He was born in Pocatello, Idaho, and worked as a rancher in Blackfoot, Idaho.

He entered the Army in 1941 and served in the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper. He received a Purple Heart.

He returned to Idaho after his military discharge and worked as a ranch hand. In 1950, he moved to Plummer and operated a restaurant and lounge in Tensed, Idaho.

He married Audrey Inscore in 1952 in Missoula. They moved to Pocatello in 1953.

Mr. Scott worked as a horse trainer in Pocatello for a few years, before moving to California for five years. In 1965, Mr. Scott moved his family to Spokane, where he trained horses and participated in horse races in Washington, Idaho, Montana and Arizona. He retired in 1985.

After he retired, he lived in Phoenix for five years and moved to Post Falls in 1991. He settled in Plummer in 1993.

Mr. Scott was a member of the Rodeo Cowboys Association and the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bill Howard of Springdale, Wash., and Brad Scott of Fairfield, Calif.; three daughters, Bonnie Hall of Portland, Cheryl Gerling of Post Falls and Cindy Miller of Deer Park; two sisters, Bonnie Hopkins of Blackfoot and Maxine Tedesco of San Clemente, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Arthur Litscher Sr. Omak, Wash.

No service will be held for Arthur W. “Art” Litscher Sr. Precht-Harrison Funeral Home in Omak is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Litscher, a retired special education teacher, died Wednesday.

He was born in Spokane, where he graduated from high school. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

He married Fern Raymond in 1954 in Lewiston.

Mr. Litscher taught in the Omak School District and retired from the Granger (Wash.) School District.

He also worked for the Washington State Game Department as an aquatic resource instructor and with the Department of Wildlife.

He sold World Book Encyclopedias for 42 years and was a published poet.

He was a member of the National Field Archery Association, the North Central Arrow Slingers, Ducks Unlimited, the Rotary Club and the Elks, Moose and Eagles Lodges.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Art Litscher Jr. of Omak; four daughters, Connie Moores of Missoula, Barbara Brazil of Snohomish, Wash., Desiree Shelton of Omak and Cheri Jones of Spokane; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Quentin Lagestee Spokane

Service for Quentin Lagestee, 73, was Monday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Burial was at Pines Cemetery.

Mr. Lagestee, a 40-year Spokane resident, died Wednesday.

He was born in Chicago.

He served in the Army during World War II and came to Spokane from Chicago in 1956.

He worked for Kaiser Aluminum in Trentwood as a supervisor and superintendent. He retired in 1981.

Mr. Lagestee was a member of the Valley Shrine Club, Orchard Masonic Lodge No. 200, the Scottish Rite and Opportunity Presbyterian Church. He was an HO scale railroad collector and a member of the Merry Mates at Opportunity Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Virginia Lagestee; two daughters, Donna Moore of Lindsborg, Kan. and Carol Langford of Spokane; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.

Murray Nickens Spokane

Visitation for Murray Nickens, 82, is scheduled from noon to 8 p.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Private burial will be at Pines Cemetery.

Mr. Nickens, who was born in Garland, Texas, died Sunday.

After high school he attended business college in Dallas. He worked for Oilwell Supply Co. in Casper, Wyo., and then in Cutbank, Mont.

He was married in Los Angeles in 1943. He served in the Army during World War II,.

He attended Bailey School of Broadcasting in Los Angeles before he moved to Spokane in 1949, where he worked for Sears as a radio and television technician for nearly 30 years.

Mr. Nickens had Parkinson’s disease since 1976 and was a member of the Parkinson’s Support Group. He lived at Sullivan Park Care Center for the past 4-1/2 years.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and recorded many weddings for people in the church.

Survivors include his wife, Mae; his mother, Ethel Nickens of Mesquite, Texas; a son, Lowell Nickens of Portland; a daughter, Bonny Nickens of Spokane; a brother, Minor Nickens of Garland; two sisters, Annelle Davis of Escondido, Calif. and Martha Daniel of Shreveport, La.; and three grandchildren.

William Witte Spokane

Funeral Mass for William E. Witte, 66, was Monday at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Witte, who died Thursday, was born in Winside, Neb.

He worked for the Ohio National Life Insurance Company for 35 years.

He was a 26-year Spokane resident and was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and was past president of the General Agents and Managers Association.

He served in the Navy during the Korean War.

Mr. Witte is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia (Busch) Witte; two sons, Robert and Bradley Witte, both of Spokane; two daughters, Constance Browning and Jacqueline Van Dyke, both of Spokane; a sister, Shirley Sawyer of Milbrae, Calif.; and six grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Ruby Nyberg Spokane

Visitation for Ruby A. Nyberg, 82, is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Service will follow at 1 p.m. with burial at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Born in Dishman, Mrs. Nyberg died Friday.

She worked at the Davenport Hotel after graduating from North Central High School.

During World War II, she worked at the Galena Army Air Depot (now Fairchild Air Force Base) and later worked at the Silver Loaf Baking Co.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Elmer Nyberg; a daughter, Christine Borrow of Ridgefield, Conn.; a sister, Helen Thornton of Puyallup, Wash.; and two grandsons.

Francis ‘Uncle Bud’ Pulliam Veradale

Visitation for Francis M. “Uncle Bud” M. Pulliam, 88, is scheduled from noon to 9 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at West Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mr. Pulliam died Friday.

He was born in St. Andrews, Wash., and grew up in the Reardan, Wash., area.

He lived in the Spokane area for 21 years and worked as a security officer at shopping centers.

He was a Spokane-area resident for 21 years.

Survivors include a sister, Freda Gates of Seattle.

Lucille (Turmes) Martin Spokane

Funeral Mass for Lucille Elizabeth (Turmes) Martin, 85, was Monday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Entombment was at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Martin, who died Wednesday, was born in Bruneau, Idaho, and was a 65-year Spokane resident.

She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

Her husband, Joseph Martin, died in 1984.

She is survived by three sons, David and John Martin, both of Spokane, and Patrick Martin of Magna, Utah; a daughter, Joni Dunlap of Spokane; a brother, Charles Turmes of Spokane; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ann Barr Spokane

Memorial service for Ann E. “Annie” Barr, 51, is planned for 11 a.m. today at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Barr, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Thursday.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and attended the Special Sunday School at Pines Baptist Church. She also attended the Pre-Vocational Training Center.

She is survived by her parents, David and Louise Barr at the home; three sisters, Jeannette Bruun of Hoquiam, Wash., Norene Tinling of Tonasket, Wash., and Mari-Lu Vokoun of River Forest, Ill.; a brother, David Barr of Spokane; and her grandmother, Anna Houston of Wilbur, Wash.

Delena Erickson Spokane

Graveside service for Delena A. Erickson, 75, was Monday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mrs. Erickson, a 40-year Spokane resident, died Nov. 11.

She was born in Clinton, Iowa, and was a homemaker.

Her husband, Ruben Erickson Sr., preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Robert and Ruben Erickson Jr.; a brother, Ralph Sawyer; and seven grandchildren.

Howard Rapp Spokane

Vigil service for Howard G. Rapp, 71, will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Mary Catholic Church. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Pines Cemetery. Hennessey Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rapp died Thursday.

Born in Lincoln, Neb., he worked as a machinist for Inland Empire Paper Co. for 35 years and had lived in Spokane for 45 years.

He was a square dancer and a Grange member. He was also a member of the Independent Order of Foresters, the Valley Eagles Lodge and St. Mary Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Genevieve; four sons, David, Dennis and Dale Rapp, all of Spokane, and Douglas Rapp of Federal Way, Wash.; his mother, Mary Pansy Rapp; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.

Eula Thompson Spokane

Service for Eula Thompson, 80, will be today at 11 a.m. at Yates Funeral Chapel in Hayden Lake. A reception will follow at the funeral home.

Mrs. Thompson, who was born in Montana, died Friday.

She graduated from high school in 1934 and later moved to Coeur d’Alene. She worked as a bookkeeper at Louis Green House, Dingles Hardware and the Milky Way Dairy Store.

She later attended North Idaho College.

Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Allen, in 1982. Survivors include three sons, Robert, Dennis and Loran Thompson, all of Spokane; a daughter, Eileen Berscheid of Veradale; three sisters, Wilma Schaffer of Coeur d’Alene, Norma McCabe of Oregon and Ruth Malone of Montana; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Bobby ‘Pat’ Patrick Spokane

Visitation for Bobby J. “Pat” Patrick, 59, is scheduled from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Service is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pines Baptist Church with burial at Pines Cemetery.

Mr. Patrick died Saturday.

He was born in Patrick, Ark., and had lived in Spokane for 20 years.

He graduated from Okanogan (Wash.) High School and Spokane Falls Community College.

He served in the Air Force from 1956 to 1976 and coached several highly ranked softball teams.

He was a member of the Metro Softball Association.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Julia Patrick; his mother, Goldie Patrick of Okanogan; a son, Timothy Patrick of Spokane; two daughters, Laura Calvery of McGuire Air Force Base, N.J., and Kelly Cusworth of Bothell, Wash.; a brother, Dwight Patrick of Omak, Wash.; three sisters, Sue Tarbert of Wenatchee, Kay Behymer of Omak and Vicki Till of Rathdrum, Idaho, and three grandchildren.
