Valley Lamonts Begins Liquidation

The Spokane Valley Lamonts store will begin its liquidation sale Wednesday.

All merchandise, including holiday items, will be 25 percent off, said Doug Grimm, Lamonts’ vice president.

Lamonts announced Oct. 24 that the store at University City Shopping Center would be one of four stores to close due to poor performance.

The other two stores in Spokane, at Manito Shopping Center and Shadle Center, and the Coeur d’Alene store will remain open.

The U-City store is slated to close after Christmas.

Kirkland, Wash.-based Lamonts, which operates 38 stores in five states, went into bankruptcy in January 1995 and hopes to emerge in January 1997.
