Whitworth Places Three On Ncic All-Conference Team

Whitworth seniors Travis Ernst and Ryan Buxton joined junior Travis Torco on the All-Northwest Conference of Independent Colleges football team.

Ernst, who earned all-conference honorable mention honors as an offensive tackle two years ago, made the switch to tight end and caught 16 passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns.

Buxton, the anchor of Whitworth’s offensive line, was an honorable mention selection last season. Torco had three interceptions and two fumble recoveries from his defensive back position.

Brion Williams, senior wide receiver; Dave Glenn, junior wide receiver; and Casey Clark, senior defensive back, made the second team.

Honorable mention members from Whitworth include freshman linebackers Mitch Ellerd and Andy Clark and senior safety Cody McCanna.
