Gm Cuts Deal To Sell Four Delphi Plants

Compiled From Wire Services

General Motors Corp. has agreed to sell two Delphi Interior & Lighting Systems plants in Michigan and two in Canada to an investment firm trying to expand its auto parts business.

Terms of the deal, announced Tuesday, were not disclosed.

The Michigan plants in Livonia and Flint and Canadian plants in Windsor and Oshawa, Ontario, were put up for sale by GM’s Delphi Automotive Systems unit in April. The plants make interior components.

GM has signed a preliminary sales agreement with Peregrine Inc., a company formed by the New York investment firm of Joseph Littlejohn & Levy, and a final document is expected by Dec. 31, said Delphi spokesman Lynda Messina.

The four plants generate about $1 billion a year in sales.
