Dunn Assigned To ‘Gender Gap’

Seattle Post-Intelligencer

Rep. Jennifer Dunn, R-Wash., was unanimously elected to a GOP leadership post in the House of Representatives Wednesday, and said her main task would be to reduce the “gender gap” in which women favor Democratic candidates.

Without opposition, Dunn was elected secretary of the House Republican Conference, a post with open-ended duties. She said she would work as a liaison with the GOP majority in the Senate to help present a united front on policy matters, as well as working to close the gender gap.

Opinion polls have shown women favoring the Democratic Party in part because they think Democrats push policies that help women, children and families more.
