Man Accuses His Son Of Stealing Cds

Janice Podsada Staff Writer

A man who lives in the Lincoln Heights area called police on Nov. 11 to report that his 20-year-old son had been stealing CDs from him.

The father told police he thinks his son was selling his CDs to purchase drugs.

The victim told police that his son, who lives with him, had traded the CDs for drugs and alcohol to an unknown suspect. The suspect then allegedly sold more than a dozen CDs to a Lincoln Heights music and video store.

The victim, who frequents the store, recognized his missing CDs and contacted police in hopes of recovering his stolen property.

The store agreed to hold the CDs in question until police complete their investigation. The victim told police he wants to file theft charges against his son. The incident is still under investigation and no arrest has yet been made.

Police investigate confrontation

A 49-year-old man, walking his dog near the 1100 block of East 46th Avenue on Monday, was startled to hear what he thought were gunshots.

The man called sheriff’s deputies who arrived on the scene about 10 a.m. The man told deputies he had witnessed an angry exchange between two men in a black or dark brown GMC pick-up and his next-door-neighbor.

The man told police his neighbor was yelling at the two men for hunting on her property.

He told police he thought he heard the two men threatening to shoot the woman before they left.

As the truck sped away, the man told police, it careened by him, narrowly missing his dog. The man gave the truck’s Idaho license plate number to deputies who are investigating.

Two charged with prowling

Spokane Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress on Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. in the 2300 block of East Pacific.

Witnesses told police they saw two teenagers, one male and one female, crawling through the rear window of a mobile home. No one was in the mobile home at the time of the alleged break-in.

When contacted later by the police, the owners of the mobile home said nothing was taken from the trailer, nor was it damaged.

Given a description of the prowlers, police searched the neighborhood and arrested Marcus E. Hardin, 24, 1223 E. Pacific, and a 16-year-old female companion.

Police charged both suspects with first-degree vehicle prowling. Hardin was booked into jail, the girl into juvenile detention.
