Sabina Panzanini of Italy, who first showed signs of becoming a star with breakthrough finishes in the United States, solidified her reputation as one of the best women’s giant slalom skiers by winning a World Cup giant slalom.

Panzanini completed two runs in 2 minutes, 38.50 seconds, for her second career World Cup victory. She beat Austria’s Anita Wachter by .62 seconds and Germany’s Katja Seizinger by .81.
