Dui Task Force Director Arrested For Dui

From Staff And Wire Reports

A director of the local Interagency DUI Task Force has been arrested on a drunken driving charge after a Pocatello policeman was allegedly dragged by his car.

Bryan W. Yowell, marketing director for the Greater Pocatello Chamber of Commerce, also was charged with battery and eluding an officer. Thursday was his 33rd birthday.

Patrol Sgt. Kenneth Linn found Yowell sitting in his car vomiting outside its door at about 11:30 p.m., police reports said.

The car’s engine was running, and Linn reached inside to turn off the ignition.

Yowell accelerated, catching Linn’s arm in the steering wheel and dragging him for a short distance. Linn’s foot was run over by the car’s rear tire, the report said.

Linn freed himself and radioed for assistance. Yowell continued, driving erratically without his car’s lights on, Capt. Kirk Nelson said.

Yowell was stopped by another officer, and was taken to Bannock County Jail where he posted bond.

Linn was taken to the hospital and treated for possible ligament damage to his arm and injury to his foot. His arm is in a cast.
