Navy Edges Bulldog Women 58-55 In Gate City Title Game

Navy rallied from a four-point halftime deficit Saturday night and defeated Gonzaga University 58-55 in the championship game of Idaho State’s Gate City Shootout in Pocatello, Idaho.

Adria Schneck threw in 24 points for Navy, which handed the Bulldogs their first loss.

GU was paced by Tenille Jeffries, who came off the bench to score 15 points and grab seven rebounds.

Whitworth fell at home in its season opener, despite getting 19 points from Rebecca Moore and 10 points and 12 rebounds from Sherri Northington.

Tech opened up a 21-19 halftime lead and held off the Pirates with the help of a 50-36 rebounding advantage.

Heather Brandt came up big off the bench by scoring 11 points and grabbing eight rebounds in the Sasquatch’s home victory over the previously unbeaten Cougars.

CCS, which also got 12 points from Misty Stark, led by as many as 25 points in the second half.
