Cruise Line Bans Unaccompanied Teens

Compiled From Wire Services

The carnival’s over for youthful cruisers.

Starting with the new year, Carnival Cruise Line will ban passengers under 21 unless they are accompanied by someone over 25. The world’s largest cruise company said other passengers complained of drunk, rowdy kids.

Travel agents were briefed on the policy change during the inaugural cruise aboard Destiny, Carnival’s newest ship and the world’s biggest.

“The biggest complaints we get is on the spring-break cruises when people say the young people monopolize the ship,” said Jeff Kivet, owner of Cruise Value Center based in East Brunswick, N.J.
