Man Admits Othello Shooting, Faces Up To 10 Years In Prison

A man is facing up to 10 years in prison for a gang-related shooting in Othello last March.

Armando Flores III pleaded guilty Tuesday in Superior Court to the first-degree assault of Leonel Lazaro at the Desert Deli in Othello on March 23.

Flores told Judge Michael E. Donohue that he shot Lazaro with a .22 caliber firearm. Lazaro is still recovering from the wound to his stomach.

Flores is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 14. He could get seven to 10 years for the shooting. Adams County Prosecutor David M. Sandhaus said he will be seeking 10 years for Flores.
