Heisman watch

Danny Wuerrfel, QB, Florida: Passed for four touchdowns and a school-record 462 yards in 42-7 win over Arkansas.

Troy Davis, RB, Iowa State: Did not play, but made his first national TV appearance on an ABC pregame show. May have lost votes when he suggested the Heisman go to Peyton Manning.

Byron Hanspard, RB, Texas Tech: Compiled his fifth consecutive 200-yard game this season, with 287 yards in a 45-24 win over Baylor. His 222.4 yards per game is second to Iowa State’s Davis.

Peyton Manning, QB, Tennessee: Davis may be the only person willing to vote for him after his four-interception disaster against Florida, but Thursday’s 18-for-22, 242-yard performance vs. Mississippi has him on the verge of getting back in the race.
