ANALYSIS

Not only have the Seahawks been playing poorly, now they have to deal with the distractions of a possible Rick Mirer-for-Jeff George trade. Mirer has been inept on the field, but he’s very popular with teammates because of his stand-up demeanor.

The Seahawks seem to go from one crisis to the next - Mike Frier’s car accident, Dennis Erickson’s personal problems, the aborted franchise move to California, quarterback controversy, possible Mirer trade, etc.

The offense should be more productive with Coeur d’Alene’s John Friesz getting the start at quarterback. And it appears Chris Warren finally found his running shoes.

For once, points shouldn’t be so scarce.

Seattle has the fortune of facing a Marino-less Miami offense. If he’s in the backfield and not on the sideline with an ankle injury, the line goes from 7.5 points to 14.

Backup QB Bernie Kosar has given way to Craig Erickson, whose first pass Sunday will be his first of the season. Miami can’t be expected to be sharp with Erickson taking over. And Seattle’s defense has shown modest improvement.

Don’t laugh - this one’s winnable for the Hawks. It’s more likely that Seattle will cover the spread and fall to 1-5.
