Bomb Explodes Near Budapest Synagogue

Compiled From Wire Services

A pipe bomb exploded near Europe’s largest synagogue late Wednesday. There were no injuries and apparently no damage to the ornate building, police said.

The Moorish-style synagogue was built in 1850, and was reopened last month after a five-year renovation.

The small bomb, which was placed in a garbage can behind the synagogue, was the second bombing in Hungary in four days.
