Woman Arrested After Shooting

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 50-year-old Post Falls woman was taken into custody Wednesday night after she fired a gun, hitting her neighbor’s house.

Beverly Fillmore is being held at the Kootenai County psychiatric unit, said Post Falls police detective Harlan Fritzsche.

Fillmore, who lives at 831 Compton Street, began firing rounds from her gun at about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday. “She thought devil worshippers were after her,” Fritzsche said.

Several of the bullets hit Glen Douglas’ house at 303 Montgomery Place, Fritzsche said. At least one bullet pierced a window on the east side of the house.

No one was injured.

It took police about a half-hour of negotiating on the telephone before they could take Fillmore into custody.

Criminal charges are pending.
