Two Arrested For 10-Year-Old Bombing

Compiled From Wire Services

Ten years after a bombing explosion tore through a Berlin nightclub, killing three people including two American soldiers, German authorities announced Friday that they had arrested two people - a German woman and a Palestinian man - and had issued arrest warrants for four Libyans in connection with the attack.

The woman, identified by justice officials only as Verena C., 37, and the man, identified as Ali C., also 37, were arrested on Thursday and charged with murder and the possession of explosives.

The warrants against the four Libyans, said by justice officials in Berlin to be three diplomats and an intelligence operative all thought to be in Libya now, also underscored the longstanding U.S. contention that the country’s leader, Col. Moammar Gadhafi, was behind the bombing.
