NEW FACES:

The following people have joined the medical staff at Holy Family Hospital:

Roger Scott, a certified physician’s assistant, completed his certification at the University of North Dakota in 1993. Scott joins Dr. Jeffery Trail in the practice of family medicine.

Dr. Darren Hollenbaugh graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed a residency at the University of Washington. Hollenbaugh, who joins Spokane Cardiology, also completed a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases.

The following physicians have been accepted for membership in the Spokane County Medical Society:

Dr. Silvia Villagomez joined Rockwood Clinic in the practice of gastroenterology. Villagomez graduated from Harvard University and completed an internship and residency at the University of California, San Francisco, and a fellowship at Stanford University.

Dr. Cindy Hollenbaugh joined Kapstafer, Maixner and Genung in the practice of pediatrics. Hollenbaugh graduated from the University of Washington and completed an internship and residency at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. James Craven joined the Rockwood Clinic in the practice of general surgery. Cravan graduated from Oregon Health Sciences University and completed an internship and residency at Virginia Mason Hospital.

Wells Fargo Bank has named Dean Thorp as its Northwest Wells Team manager, to coordinate the company’s employee volunteer efforts in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Thorp previously worked for Wells Fargo from 1979 to 1986 and subsequently was campaign market manager for United Way of King County for five years. He is a graduate of Washington State University.

Steve Rusconi has joined Jacklin Seed Co. as a grower services field consultant. Rusconi’s responsibilities include contracting acreage for proprietary varieties of grass for Jacklin and Medalist America and field consulting to assure quality control. A graduate of California State Polytechnic University, he previously managed 1,100 acres of row crops for a San Joaquin, Calif., trust.

Kiemle & Hagood Co. has hired Jeanne Dickelman as an accounting supervisor. Dickelman previously worked in the accounting department of Tomlinson Black Management Inc. for more than nine years.

MOVING UP:

Kiemle & Hagood Co. has promoted Steve Gill to director of its residential property management department. Gill formerly worked in the company’s brokerage department.

Spokane Teachers Credit Union has promoted the following employees:

Michelle Crace was named office manager of its Newport, Wash., office. Crace, who joined the credit union eight years ago, previously was a teller supervisor at the credit union’s Valley office.

Katie Miller was named office manager at the credit union’s new South Spokane office. Miller has more than 20 years of financial institution experience and previously was card services supervisor at Spokane Teachers Credit Union.

Kathy Frye has been promoted to vice president and training director for Washington Trust Bank. Frye will be the primary resource to bank departments and divisions involving any aspect of training.

APPOINTED:

Bill Williams Jr., co-founder, chairman and CEO of Telect Inc., has been named a director of the National Association of Manufacturers. Williams will serve a one-year term as a representative for Washington state.

Marilyn Deutsch, office manager for Jacklin Seed Co., Post Falls, has been appointed to the Idaho Department of Agriculture’s Seed Advisory Council. The nine-member council will advise the state agency in the administration of field inspections and phytosanitary certification of agricultural crops. Deutsch has been Jacklin’s office manager for 18 years.

ELECTED:

Edward Kiemle, retired co-founder of Kiemle & Hagood Co., was elected chairman of the board of Empire Health Services. Other officers include: Charles Stocker, superintendent of East Valley School District, vice-chairman; Jane Johnson, vice president of student services and university advancement at Eastern Washington University, secretary; and George Cole, retired business owner, treasurer.

Maryellen Johnson, community relations administrator for Metropolitan Mortgage & Securities, was elected chair of the Davenport Arts & Entertainment District board.

Stu Evey, an independent business and management consultant and former vice president and general manager of Getty Oil Co.’s Diversified Operations Division, was elected to the board of directors of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Evey, who established ESPN while working for Getty, also received the fraternity’s Fiji Award, which recognizes members for their service to the fraternity and to mankind and to society at large.

KUDOS:

Denise Davies of Bayer Corp. was named public relations person of the year for District XI of of the National Association of Purchasing Management (NAPM). Davies is a buyer of components, packaging materials and chemicals for Bayer Corp.’s Pharmaceutical/Allergy Products Division in Spokane.

Dawn Pequignot was chosen employee of the month at Pine Crest Hospital. Pequignot began working at Pine Crest nearly eight years ago as a ward clerk on the adult unit and moved to the position of administrative assistant a year later.

Hartly Kruger, president and general manager of the Spokane Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, was recognized by the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity for his service to the Fraternity’s chapter at the University of Idaho. Kruger received an honorable mention in the Coulter Cup, which recognizes graduated members of Phi Gamma Delta who have made significant contributions to an undergraduate chapter.

Tuesday-Thursday - The 16th Annual Computer and Business Technology Expo featuring more than 120 exhibitors runs from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday at the Spokane Convention Center. Besides exhibits, the event includes 56 seminars on topics ranging from computers and general business to telecommunications and health care.
