Obituaries

Leslie Fore Spokane

Graveside service for Leslie C. Fore, will be at 1 p.m. today at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Dickinson, N.D., Mr. Fore died Tuesday. He was 72.

He moved to Spokane in 1941 and worked for Kaiser Aluminum in Trentwood as an industrial photographer. In 1969 he was transferred to Pleasanton, Calif. He retired in 1982 and moved to Western Washington after he retired.

He returned to Spokane earlier this year.

His wife of 49 years, Donna Fore, died last March.

Mr. Fore is survived by two sons, Dennis Fore of Spokane and Michael Fore of Livermore, Calif.; two daughters, Barbara Schell and Leanne Kingston, both of Spokane; two sisters, Esther Johnson of Whidbey Island, Wash., and Irene Flowers of Kalama, Wash.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, Eastern Washington Chapter.

Gene Hayes Coeur d’Alene

At his request, no service will be held for Gene Arlin Hayes, 62. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hayes, who was born in Richmond, Utah, died Thursday.

He retired from the Air Force and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also was a member of the Mormon Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ann; a son, Scott Hayes of Nine Mile Falls; a daughter, Kelli Hayes; a brother, Allan Jones of Montana; a sister, Helen Humphreys of Pocatello, Idaho; and three grandchildren.

Herbert Gibson Spokane

Service for Herbert Ray Gibson, 91, will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Mausoleum Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gibson, who died Friday, was born in West Virginia and had lived in Spokane since 1958.

He worked for Kaiser Aluminum in Mead.

His wife, Esther Gibson, died in 1970.

He is survived by three daughters, Ellen Latting of Deer Park, Mary Barbour of Valley, Wash., and Linda Spink of Eagle River, Alaska; three sons, Melvin Gibson of Benton City, Wash., Donald Gibson of Redmond, Wash., and Richard Gibson of Puyallup, Wash.; two sisters, Lillian Poffenburger and Mary Shaefer, both of Clarksburg, W.Va.; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

John DeGraff Pinehurst, Idaho

Graveside service for John William DeGraff, 84, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Shoshone Memorial Gardens in Pinehurst. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. DeGraff, who was born in Gem, Idaho, died Thursday.

He had lived in the area most of his life and had worked at various area mines, the last one being the Galena Mine.

Mr. DeGraff was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche, in 1984. Survivors include a daughter, Valerie Cole of Colville, Wash.; a sister, Bertha of Texas; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
