Owen Washburn edged 1995 champion Tuff Hedeman for this year’s points title on the Professional Bull Riders tour. Washburn won when Hedeman hit the dirt just short of the whistle in the top-15 fifth and final round of competition in the Bud Light Cup World Finals in Las Vegas.

Work on the new Milwaukee Brewers stadium will get under way by Oct. 30, the stadium board announced. The board has been seeking to cut the stadium’s cost to $250 million after it had ballooned to $313 million.
