Police Seek Salesman In Molestation

From Staff And Wire Reports

Police are looking for a door-to-door salesman suspected of molesting a 15-year-old girl.

The man, who said he was selling magazine subscriptions, went to a C Street apartment Sunday where the girl was baby-sitting a 9-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl.

The boy she was baby-sitting let the man into the house, according to a Coeur d’Alene Police report. The salesman was selling “Seventeen,” “Teen,” cooking magazines and golfing magazines among others.

The baby sitter told police that after talking to her a while the salesman asked her to show him where the bathroom was. On his way in, he grabbed the girl’s hand and led her into the bathroom, according to the police report.

The salesman pulled his pants and the girls pants down and began kissing her. She was able to push him away and made him leave the house, according to the report.

The man is described as being in his late teens to early twenties. He is about 5 foot 7 with a slender build, 150 pounds. He has medium-length sandy brown hair and was wearing a reddish to maroon jacket, which went down to the thigh.

Coeur d’Alene police are asking that anyone who may have seen the man or have information regarding the incident to call (208) 769-2320. , DataTimes
