Two Hurt When Truck Hits Deer, Rolls Over

From Staff And Wire Reports

Two south Spokane County residents were injured Wednesday when their pickup truck hit a deer and went out of control, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The crash occurred about 9:21 p.m. near North Kentuck Trails and Valley Chapel roads.

Jeffrey Nadwornick, 34, of Fairfield, was driving his 1966 Chevrolet pickup south on Kentuck Trails at a high rate of speed when three deer jumped into the road, troopers said.

The truck hit one deer, rolled several times and landed in a field.

Nadwornick sustained a broken ankle and head injuries in the crash.

His passenger, 17-year-old Nathan Brisson of Latah, was thrown from the truck and sustained a broken pelvis and internal injuries. Both men were taken to Deaconess Medical Center.

Neither Nadwornick nor Brisson wore seat belts, troopers said.
