U.S. Match Delayed

Compiled From Wire Services

World Cup qualifying for the United States was to be delayed following Wednesday night’s stampede before a qualifier in Guatemala.

FIFA, soccer’s world governing body, decided Thursday to hold off on the rest of the schedule in Group One of the North and Central American and Caribbean region.

Chuck Blazer, the secretary general of CONCACAF, the regional governing body, said they will establish a commission to investigate ticketing for games in the region. FIFA said counterfeit tickets may have been the cause of the stampede that killed 84 and injured 147 others before the Costa Rica-Guatemala game.
