Door-To-Door Salesman Charged With Molesting Girl

Police arrested a California salesman Friday for allegedly molesting a young girl while trying to sell magazines in Coeur d’Alene.

Post Falls and Coeur d’Alene police helped arrest Robert C. Elizarraraz, 20, on a charge of lewd conduct with a minor.

A 15-year-old girl was baby-sitting when a door-to-door salesman came to the home selling magazines last Sunday, according to a Coeur d’Alene police report.

She said the man came into the house and then took her into the bathroom. The girl told police that he partially undressed her and molested her.

The girl was able to make him leave the home.

On Friday, Post Falls Police received a call of a suspicious person selling magazines. According to a dispatcher, the officer recognized Elizarraraz as matching the description of the salesman who molested the girl.

Coeur d’Alene police were able to get an arrest warrant and eventually booked Elizarraraz into the Kootenai County Jail.

He is being held there on $100,000 bail.
