Court Dismisses Challenge To Jail

From Staff And Wire Reports

The state Supreme Court has dismissed a challenge to construction of a new jail in Bonneville County, and local officials say that puts an end to the debate.

The high court without comment refused to consider Randell Brown’s appeal of a lower court’s dismissal of his claim that the bonds approved to finance the $7.4 million project were invalid because county officials lied about details of the proposal.

Financing for the 280-bed facility was narrowly approved in May.
