Gms To Pick Stars

General managers of the top three teams in each division will be charged with selecting the players for the Western Hockey League All-Star Game that will be played Jan. 22 in the Spokane Arena, the league announced Monday.

That determination will be made through 29 games - as long as a team’s 29th game comes on or before Dec. 10. Coaches of the teams in first place at the same point will coach the East and West squads.

Twenty players will be selected for each team, with no limit on 20-year-olds or the number of players that can be selected from each team. There is also no guarantee every team will be represented.

Rosters will be announced around Jan. 7-9.

The host Spokane Chiefs announced they’re within 1,000 of the record for most tickets sold for an all-star game, but said good seats remain in all price ranges.

Tickets can be obtained by calling the Chiefs’ office at the Arena, 328-0450, or G&B Select-A-Seat, 325-SEAT or (800) 325-SEAT.
