Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I use old golf bags to store wrapping paper for the year. Apply an old newspaper rubber band to each end of the rolls of wrapping paper and carefully insert the paper into the golf bag.

Also, use the other compartments on the bag for scissors, tape, bows and ribbon. If you have two old golf bags, you can use the next bag for Christmas wrap. Using the golf bag cover that attaches over the bag will keep dust out of the wrapping paper when storing for the next year. - Mark E. Smith, Port Hueneme, Calif.

Dear Heloise: Obtain an old bicycle tube, cut it into elastic bands approximately 3/4 inch wide and stretch them over the shut-off valves at your toilet-tank water supply.

Great for other similar valves that are usually difficult to turn on or off and, in some cases, are very rough to the hands. - Roy Plant, Ft. Myers, Fla.
