Mccarthy Leaving ‘Singled Out’

New York Daily News

MTV’s goofy game show “Singled Out” put former Playboy Playmate Jenny McCarthy on the entertainment map, but now she’s saying adios to the program.

An MTV spokesman has confirmed that the darn-near-sizzling bottled blonde will exit midway through the show’s fourth season, which starts in December. After that, a soon-to-be-cast replacement will take over the gig as sidekick to show host Chris Hardwick.

McCarthy has an overall production deal with MTV to star in a new comedy-variety show for the network, as well as a sitcom for a broadcast network.

Headin’ to the right: Far-right politician Pat Buchanan is being wooed by the folks at NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” to host an upcoming edition of the show.

Show staffers are in discussions with the former Republican presidential candidate, according to the trade paper The Hollywood Reporter. A show spokesman declined to comment Thursday.

“SNL” has a long history of political guests, going back to the spring of 1976, when Ron Nessen, press secretary to President Gerald Ford, came to New York to front the show. Just last season, former Republican presidential candidate Steve Forbes hosted one show and New York Gov. George Pataki and New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani appeared on another.
