Battle Of The B-11s Republic Has Offensive Firepower, But Davenport, Reardan Stand In Way

Even after last autumn, logic said that Republic would field one of the state’s most dazzling offensive units in B-11 football.

Yet the Tigers have found extra help over the summer.

To a record-breaking passing combination, the Tigers have added transfers Danny and Denny Hargrave - all-leaguers from Springdale.

No matter where the Tigers turn, however, Northeast B-11 neighbors Davenport and Reardan just might stand in the way.

Defending state champion Davenport and Reardan - the lone team to beat Davenport last year - are stocked with enough quality returners to vie with Republic for berths to Gridiron Classic II.

The 10-team league schedule begins Sept. 13.

Sprague-Harrington, which joined the league last year, has dropped out because of dwindling numbers. Sprague-Harrington will play a non-league schedule, mainly against B-8 teams.
