Donation From Business Helps Cda Police Fund Investigations

From Staff And Wire Reports

Target Stores is giving the Coeur d’Alene Police Department $400 to help fund volunteer investigative aides.

The aides are citizens who give their time to make telephone calls on older cases, help answer telephones and do background research, said Capt. Carl Bergh. Basically, “they do a variety of things to help us do a better job,” Bergh said.

Often, people preparing to go to college in law enforcement volunteer time to the program.

The 3-year-old program never has had funding for its own telephone or desk. The money being presented by Target this week will help cover that, Bergh said.
