Former State Legislator Seeks Seat On Nic Board

From Staff And Wire Reports

Former state legislator Barbara Chamberlain will run for a seat on the North Idaho College board of trustees.

She applied Tuesday, the last day to run in the Nov. 8 election. She will run against David Paquin for the seat held by Norm Gissel, who is stepping down.

Steven Widmyer is uncontested for the trustee position being vacated by Betty McLain.

Chamberlain served in the Idaho House from 1990 to 1992 and the Idaho Senate from 1992 to 1994. She holds degrees in English and linguistics from Washington State University, and is working toward a master’s degree in public administration.

“I see two major ongoing goals for NIC: affordability and accessibility,” she said.

Chamberlain owns PageWorks Publication Services, a book editing and production firm. She is president of the board of directors of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and a member of Panhandle Kiwanis.
