Farrakhan Visits With Castro
Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan praised Fidel Castro on Wednesday, saying his talks with the Cuban leader were wide-ranging and “wonderful.”
The black leader met briefly with Castro after arriving Tuesday in Havana, the last stop on a trip that has taken Farrakhan to Libya, Iran and Iraq.
At a Wednesday news conference, Farrakhan criticized the Helms-Burton law and the Clinton administration’s recent tightening of its decades-old economic embargo on the communist island, Prensa Latina reported.
The black leader also railed against U.S. missile attacks on Iraq this week, and economic sanctions against several Arab nations, according to the Prensa Latina dispatch from Havana, monitored in Mexico City.
