Hostetler Doubtful

Compiled From Wire Services

Jeff Hostetler practiced with a brace protecting his sore right knee, but Oakland Raiders coach Mike White said there’s “almost no chance” the quarterback will start Sunday at Kansas City.

The Raiders have lost seven straight games, going winless since Hostetler was sidelined with a shoulder injury last November. Hostetler hurt his knee during training camp this summer.

Billy Joe Hobert probably will start against the Chiefs.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Warren Moon remains questionable for Sunday’s game at Atlanta, although he said his foot and ankle injuries are healing well.

Moon sprained his right ankle and left foot in the Vikings’ win over Detroit, and also is bothered by a painful turf toe on the big toe of his right foot.

Raising the prospect that Lawrence Phillips may yet do jail time, the chief county prosecutor in Lincoln, Neb., said he intends to charge the St. Louis Rams running back with violating probation for allegedly driving drunk in California.

Lancaster County attorney Gary Lacey said he intends to file the charge “sometime before” Phillips’ one-year probation in Nebraska is due to expire, on Dec. 5. The precise timing, Lacey said, remains uncertain.
