Mob Boss Mumbles Through Arraignment

Compiled From Wire Services

Vincent Gigante, the reputed Mafia boss known for strolling the streets in his pajamas and bathrobe, appeared incoherent and feeble in court Friday as he denied running the nation’s No. 1 crime family.

The 68-year-old Gigante, who’s been accused by prosecutors of feigning mental illness to avoid prosecution, mumbled incoherently through his arraignment on federal racketeering charges. His attorney entered an innocent plea on Gigante’s behalf.
