Three North Idaho people are among five appointees named by the Idaho Parks and Recreation Board to the State Trust for Outdoor Recreation Enhancement Evaluation Committee.

The program provides matching grants to help local communities and state agencies provide public recreation facilities, natural areas, outdoor school sports facilities and playgrounds, as well as initiate recreation programs for youth.

The new appointees include Post Falls City Councilman Clay Larkin, Parks and Recreation Board member Beverly Boyd of Genesee and Phil Shinn, owner and publisher of the Money Saver newspaper in Lewiston.

The purpose of the evaluation committee is to rank grant applications and projects based on selected criteria.
