Teen Suspected In Stabbing Of His Sister’s Boyfriend

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 14-year-old is a suspect in the Saturday stabbing of his sister’s boyfriend, Spokane police said.

The victim, 18-year-old Fabin Berrento, suffered a minor wound to his abdomen about noon, said John Gately, a Spokane police officer. Berrento was treated at a hospital and released.

He was injured during an argument at the home of his girlfriend’s family at Fairview and Freya.

The argument began because Berrento was wearing the suspect’s clothes, Gately said.

The suspect got angry after Berrento allegedly pushed his mother, so the youth used a butterfly knife to inflict a minor stab wound, Gately said. The suspect then fled.

Police wouldn’t release the name of the suspect because he’s a juvenile. He was wanted on a second-degree assault charge, Gately said.
