Cusick Comes Back To Defeat Rosalia

Senior Justin Finley’s 80-yard kickoff return capped a Cusick comeback in the Panthers’ 26-20 win over Rosalia Friday night at Cusick.

The Spartans took an 8-0 lead in the first quarter behind senior quarterback Tysen Blank’s 5-yard touchdown run and 2-point conversion.

Cusick scored the next four touchdowns. Tell Hamilton scored on a 15-yard pass and followed with a 1-yard run to give the Panthers a 14-13 lead.

Blank added second and third touchdowns, a 2-yard runs, for the final points in the game.

Senior running back Casey Finley scored on runs of 4, 41 and 18 yards as the Hornets coasted past the Eagles at Inchelium.

Senior running back Galen Desautel caught a 46-yard pass from senior J.D. Finley in the first quarter to begin Inchelium’s onslaught. Desautel tacked on an 8-yard touchdown run in the final quarter.

The win marked the debut for Hornets coaches Duane Gatlin and Rick Johnson.

Sophomore receiver Matt Henry pulled in three touchdown passes of 20, 2 and 12 yards and senior David Countryman accounted for 1- and 21-yard touchdown catches and a 21-yard touchdown run.

Perry Pakootas caught a 27-yard pass from Tony Hombel for Wellpinit’s only score.
