Seniors Group Will Meet At Prince Of Peace Church

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 3909 W. Rowan, will be the regular meeting site for a group of seniors age 55 and older. The group, called Post 39, will begin meeting today at noon for a monthly social hour and potluck. The group will meet on the last Thursday of every month.

Participants will be discussing a bus trip to Leavenworth, Wash., scheduled for Dec. 10. All seniors are welcome to be a part of the group. A free-will offering will be collected to help with expenses. Anyone interested in attending should call the church office at 325-5726.

Interested in Catholic faith?

St. Thomas More Church, 8112 N. Howard, will be holding an informational meeting about its program of adult instruction in the Catholic faith tonight at 7 p.m.

The class, called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), is open to all people who are interested in joining the Catholic faith who have never been baptized, those who were baptized Catholic as children but did not receive further instruction or people who are baptized non-Catholic Christians.

Meetings will be held each Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. until Easter. The sessions will focus on developing an understanding of the Catholic faith and exploring the beliefs of the Roman Catholicism.

Faith Baptist marks anniversary

Faith Baptist Church, 1002 E. Montgomery, is celebrating its 15th anniversary this weekend.

Guest speaker Lee Roberson of Chattanooga, Tenn., will be speaking at the 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. services. Roberson is pastor emeritus of Highland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga.

There will be a reception with anniversary cake following the 11 a.m. service. All are welcome to come and celebrate.
