Absentee Ballots Fail To Save Kettle Falls School Bond Effort

Sat., Sept. 28, 1996

Absentee ballots had no effect on a Kettle Falls school bond measure when they were counted Friday.

The $425,000 bond proposal still was just shy of the necessary 60 percent approval, with 59.6 percent. The Stevens County portion of the district supported the bonds 63.4 percent, but Ferry County residents brought down the total.

The overall vote was 773-525.
