Wildflower Tour Scheduled

Colville National Forest officials will lead a caravan of wildflower fans on a two-hour motor and foot tour of Sherman Pass on Saturday.

Spokeswoman Cynthia Reichelt said anyone who wants to join the tour should be at Barney’s Restaurant four miles west of Kettle Falls on U.S. Highway 395 at 9 a.m.

The group will drive to the Sherman Pass summit, stopping for guided hikes at several locations along the way Frosty nights are expected to make tree leaves colorful in time for the event.

Bring hiking boots, lunches, binoculars, cameras and a full tank of gasoline, Rechielt advised.
