Miller Still Unsigned

Compiled From Wire Services

The Indiana Pacers are preparing to go to training camp without unsigned Reggie Miller, the team’s all-time leading scorer.

Pacers president Donnie Walsh reported minor progress in negotiations, but told The Indianapolis Star he didn’t know whether Miller would be heading to Chapel Hill, N.C., today.

The length of the contract and the amount of guaranteed money are the major unresolved issues.

Talks between the Los Angeles Lakers and Byron Scott that have been going on for weeks may result in the free-agent guard signing early this week and returning to the team he helped win three NBA championships.
