Ccs Sweeps Wenatchee, Remains Perfect In League
Holly Vanwert threw a shutout in the opener Tuesday and Community Colleges of Spokane swept visiting Wenatchee Valley in a softball doubleheader 1-0, 8-3 at Spokane Falls Community College.
The Sasquatch are 6-4 overall, 4-0 in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges.
Vanwert struck out four and walked three. Her former Mead High teammate Kelly Kinder finished 3 for 3, all singles, as the teams combined for just seven hits.
Stephanie Shelton and Peggy Palmer of CCS were both 2 for 3 with two runs batted in during the second game. Shelton had three steals.
