Small Bomb Found At Seatac
Federal investigators will analyze a small bomb discovered at Seattle-International Airport to determine whether it was an actual explosive or a hoax, authorities said.
The device was discovered and destroyed in a baggage-claim area of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Saturday. Nobody was hurt.
Agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms along with the Port of Seattle were conducting an investigation.
A janitor told KIRO Television that she found the suspicious item near a baggage carousel shortly before 5 p.m. It was about the size of a toilet paper roll and had the word “bomb” written on it, she said.
The package was found to contain black powder, a battery, wires and a timing device. Officials are not certain whether the bomb was set to detonate.
