Skier At Lake Louise Hits Tree, Dies

A skier seen sliding out of control into thick trees at the Lake Louise ski area has died of his injuries.

Andrew Young, 48, of Calgary, died in a hospital of severe head injuries following the 11 a.m. Friday accident, police said.

It’s the third fatal accident with skiers hitting trees at the Rocky Mountain resort in the past two seasons. Another skier who hit a tree there was left in a coma.
