Lake Roosevelt Prospects Uncertain

The jury remains out regarding the fishing prospects for Lake Roosevelt this summer.

Fishing deteriorated last year at Lake Roosevelt, one of the most popular waters in the state, after the reservoir was drastically drawn down to accommodate heavy runoff.

Biologists say the low levels increase flows through the reservoir, flushing fish and reservoir nutrients over Grand Coulee Dam.

Water levels are being drawn down even more this year to make room for the water that will come from the deep snowpack in British Columbia mountains.
